Before You Book

Your session begins with a $100 commitment fee via Venmo (@ErinBradenphoto) which saves your date and secures your professional makeup artist. Sessions typically book 2–16 weeks out so don't wait too long! Once your fee is received, you'll get your contract to fill out. Payment plans are available — you can split your remaining balance into 2 or 3 payments on a schedule that works for you.

Plan Your Vision

Think about the mood and feeling you want to capture. Scroll Pinterest, save inspiration images, and send them to Erin ahead of time — especially for your hair and makeup look. The more she knows about your vision, the more intentional and personalized your session will be. Not sure what your partner wants to see? What to Wear — The Lingerie Guide

Wardrobe is one of the most important elements of an amazing session. Here's what works best:

Bodysuits are Erin's personal favorite — they photograph beautifully on every body type. High-cut styles make legs look longer, deep necklines flatter both small and large chests, and slim back cuts give the booty a gorgeous lift.

Bra & Panty Sets are a classic choice. The most important thing — get properly fitted first. Victoria's Secret can measure you for free. For smaller chests, skip the push-up bra as it can create unflattering gaps during posing. For larger chests, underwire options offer the best support and shape.

Corsets & Bustiers are perfect for defining the waist and creating an hourglass silhouette. Corsets nip and tuck the waistline while bustiers focus on lifting and defining the chest.

Teddies are similar to bodysuits but a little more daring, with built-in cups for support. Add a garter belt and stockings to take the look to another level entirely.

Garter Belts & Stockings — especially fishnets — add serious sexy to any look. Even a garter belt alone without stockings photographs beautifully.

Accessories make your session personal. Think statement necklaces, body chains, rings, bracelets, heels, and sheer robes. Keep nail colors natural and non-distracting for the most polished look.

What to avoid: Baby doll lingerie and slip-style pieces hide your curves and add the illusion of extra inches — they never photograph as well as they look on the hanger. Also avoid extremely bright fluorescent colors as they can read differently on camera. Deep blues, purples, blacks and neutrals always look incredible.

How many outfits? For a 60-minute session bring 3 (plan to wear 2, keep 1 as backup). For 90 minutes bring 3–4. For the 2-hour session you can bring as many as you like — you can never overpack!

Shop Erin's favorites: boudoir-ny.com/guide includes her curated Amazon list plus her favorite lingerie brands including Honeybirdette, Playful Promises (great for plus size), Atomic Jane, and more.

Can I Drink Before my Boudoir Shoot ?

Alright, ladies and gents, it's time for a little lesson on sobriety during a boudoir photoshoot, brought to you by Erin Braden, the queen of all things boudoir at Boudoir-ny.com. And yes, I'll try to make it hilarious - because why be serious when you can be silly?

Now, picture this: you show up to Erin's studio, feeling nervous but excited for your boudoir shoot. You take a swig of liquid courage from your trusty flask and suddenly you're feeling like a supermodel. But as you start to strike a pose, you realize that liquid courage might have been a little too strong. Your leg starts shaking uncontrollably, you're slurring your words, and Erin's trying to figure out how to pose you without making you fall over.

That's not a good look, folks. Instead, Erin wants you to be sober during your boudoir session. Sure, you can have a little drink to take the edge off, but don't go overboard. You don't want to end up looking like a hot mess express in your photos. Trust me, I've seen it all - from clients who can barely keep their eyes open, to those who start dancing on the furniture. And let me tell you, it's not a pretty sight.

But on a serious note, staying sober means you're in control. You can make informed decisions about your poses and outfits, and you can communicate with Erin clearly and confidently. And that's what boudoir photography is all about - feeling powerful, sexy, and in control. So, leave the flask at home, put on your favorite lingerie, and get ready to slay those boudoir pics. Erin's got your back, and so does your sober self.
